I got an idea; sometime, could Arenanet implement "Temporary Characters"? They'd be PvP characters that don't take up a character slot, and are deleted when you sign out (i.e. they take up no server space). They'd be perfect for trying out new classes, and since all the PvP stuff is unlocked I don't need to keep them around like I do a PvE character (who grows over much more time, and only when played).

I'd also like a "Temporary Character" when I want to make a PvP character for a limited event, like for the coming weekend (the Nightfall Preview).

Most importantly, though, is that they're only PvP characters; it would suck to get attached to a doomed PvE character. PvE takes too much time to do that sort of thing with.

i too have been thinking of something similar. I think it would be nice if they would have a temperary slot for special events so that you would not have to delete a current character just to try out one for an event such as the one they had a while back for Factions. It would be so nice if i could just sign on and have a new slot that can only be used for the sole purpose of trying the event and only allowing the options that apply to that event to that slot, either deleting it after the event is over or "deactivating" untill u buy the game assotiated with the event and be able to use it as one of the slots that would otherwise be given empty. Maybe have the option to delete or save but this is the only free slot u get, for example if i use my slot for the event taking place and want to save mine incase i get the game i cannot get another temp. slot for an event in the mean time. Only one temp. slot available per account at a time.

you should have to suffer for making roleplaying characters!!! (IF U DELETE A PVP CHAR IT DUZNT MATTER U CAN ALWAYS REMAKE IT)

I'm not sure whether thats a joke or serious....

I'd like to have temporary PvP characters...especially with these events..and if i get asked to make a build for GvG or something..

anet would never do this bc they want to steal your money with $10 character slots and sell you full priced chapter downloads!
